🔐Trézor.io/Start® | Starting Up Your Device - Trézor®
Welcome to the official guide to setting up your Trézor® hardware wallet. Whether you're new to cryptocurrency or a seasoned investor, keeping your assets secure is a top priority—and that starts with correctly initializing your Trézor device. This guide will walk you through the simple, secure setup process via Trézor.io/Start.
Step 1: Unbox and Inspect Your Device
Begin by opening the Trézor package and ensuring that it has not been tampered with. Your Trézor® should arrive in a sealed box, with no signs of physical damage or previous use. If anything seems suspicious, do not proceed—contact Trézor Support immediately.
Step 2: Navigate to Trézor.io/Start
Using a secure, malware-free computer or mobile device, open your browser and go to Trézor.io/Start. This page will automatically detect your device model (Trézor Model One or Trézor Model T) and guide you through the correct setup steps.
Step 3: Install the Trézor Suite
You’ll be prompted to download the Trézor Suite, the official desktop or browser interface for managing your crypto assets. Follow the installation instructions for your operating system and launch the Suite.
Step 4: Connect Your Device
Plug your Trézor into your computer using the supplied USB cable. The Trézor Suite will recognize the device and prompt you to install the latest firmware (if it’s not already installed). Always verify that firmware updates are downloaded via the official Trézor Suite only.
Step 5: Create a New Wallet
After firmware installation, choose "Create New Wallet" in the Trézor Suite. This process will generate a unique 12- or 24-word recovery seed—a critical backup of your wallet. Write this seed down on paper and store it in a secure, offline location. Do not take a photo, store it digitally, or share it with anyone.
Step 6: Confirm Your Recovery Seed
Trézor will prompt you to confirm your recovery seed to ensure you've written it down correctly. Never skip this step, as your seed is the only way to recover your assets if your device is lost, damaged, or stolen.
Step 7: Add Coins and Start Using Your Wallet
Once your wallet is created and backed up, you can begin adding cryptocurrencies. Trézor supports major coins like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and many ERC-20 tokens. Use the Suite to receive, send, and manage assets, as well as integrate with third-party apps like MetaMask.
